| National Farm Toy Show Display #2 Adam Sunkten
My display is of a 2000 acre grain/beef cattle
operation in Iowa. The farm scene is taking place at night during
harvest. You can see the operation harvesting corn in field across the
road. Grain is being hauled to the large drying setup. The grain
setup has two grains leg, one for unloading/loading grain and the other for
taking dry grain away from the dryer. The dryer is a stacked version
of a Sukup dryer. Dried corn from the dryer and dry grain dumped in the pit
is elevated to a small hopper bin and distributed by a large pneumatic system.
The system also features an overhead bin to load grain out. Three large
Harvestore silos are next the the grain setup, one for high moisture corn and
the other two for silage.
The
cattle operations consists of one large slatted floor confinement building
full of black/whiteface cattle. A large lagoon sits next to the cattle
shed where a large custom applicator has parked his fleet of Balzer manure
spreaders for the evening.
The operation has a large
machine shed/shop for equipment storage and repair. It has interior
lights and two bi-fold overhead doors.
A semi can be scene with
it's turning signal indicating it is turning in one of the farm's driveways as
it returns from dumping grain at the elevator. A TJ 4WD is
turning on the end rows in the field as it is pulling a 9 shank Earthmaster
tilling corn
